About the Patrick Leahy Farm to School Grant Program

On an annual basis, USDA awards competitive Farm to School grants that support planning, developing, and implementing farm to school programs. USDA's Farm to School grants are an important way to help state, regional, and local organizations as they initiate, expand, and institutionalize farm to school efforts.

Seeding Success

The Seeding Success Webinars are a reoccurring series of webinars, providing technical assistance that supports farm to school grantees to develop, expand, and maintain robust farm to school programs, projects, or initiatives. These webinar topics were identified as topics of interest by farm to school grantees.

Grantee Resources

The grantee resources are intended to help current farm to school grant recipients administer, and accurately report, their grant related activities.

Grant applicant resources are provided for those who are interested in potentially applying for a future farm to school grant.

FY 2023 Farm to School Grant Request for Applications is Now Closed

The fiscal year (FY) 2023 Farm to School grant program request for applications (RFA) is now closed.  Please check back for more information on the FY 2024 Farm to School RFA later this year. We encourage anyone who expects to seek funding through the Farm to School Grant Program to review the closed Farm to School FY 2023 RFA.

This series of four, 45-minute webinars provide technical assistance that supports farm to school grantees to develop, expand, and sustain robust farm to school programs, projects or initiatives. The webinar topics were identified as topics of interest by farm to school grantees.

The Farm to School Grantee Report is Now Available

Cultivating Opportunity: An Overview of USDA's Fiscal Year 2015 and 2016 Farm to School Grantees' Growing Achievements is a report that highlights farm to school program trends and best practices from fiscal year 2015 and 2016 farm to school grantees. This report also features baseline data provided by grantees which is used to assess the impact of the grant program on the growth of the farm to school movement nationwide.
